Accounting

One of the most important back-office functions is accounting. Tasks such as time tracking, billing clients, paying vendors, accounts receivable, trust and operating bank account management and reporting are all necessary functions needed by any law firm.

The earliest legal-specific applications were time and billing products, followed later by legal-specific general accounting applications. Even though many practice management applications include some or all of the accounting functions there is still a need for single purpose applications for those lawyers that do not use practice management software and still require the functionality.
