Worldox
Worldox was developed in the late 1990’s. The owner of a finance-based company directed his programmer to create an application to help manage the many documents produced by the organization. The resulting DOS application was so effective, the company decided to launch it as a DMS, marketing it as Worldox. It was the ideal choice for law firms and became one of the industry leaders . The application made the successful evolution to the Windows platform. The framework made it easy to integrate with other applications in addition to the widely used Word Perfect. It now integrates with the Microsoft suite of applications, Adobe and many others.
The program was developed and remains as a 32 bit on-premises application. The Worldox developers understood that they would have to upgrade their platform to 64 bit and move the native application to the cloud in order to be competitive. Instead, Worldox made the decision two years ago to sell the company rather than invest in the creation of a new 64 bit cloud-based application.
NetDocuments, the leader in cloud-based document management purchased Worldox and is supporting its customers with the hope that these customers will eventually elect to migrate to NetDocuments. At some point in time, NetDocuments will sundown Worldox when the cost of supporting Worldox users will be more expensive than the support revenue generated.
LawTech Consultants will continue to support Worldox users as well as assist firms if and when they decide to move to the cloud.
